Why did you originally want a Control4 Home Automation system? What did you believe it would give you or enable you to do?
We wanted to be able to control all of the technology in our home through one device, as opposed to using various remote controls and switches for different things.
Which part of the system has the biggest impact on your life / lifestyle now and why?
We love the different scenes our lighting can create. Our evening lighting scene creates an instant relaxed atmosphere, which is perfect after coming home from a busy day. Plus, the security cameras allow us to check on our home whilst we’re away. So we can stay relaxed whilst we’re on holiday.
Now that your system is complete, what is your favourite thing about your new smart home?
We love the intense atmosphere our incredible surround sound creates when we’re watching Game of Thrones.
Your system is modular, if you were to expand it in the future, what would you add?
We’re really happy with everything we’ve got, but we would consider adding surround sound to two more of our rooms and expanding our landscaped garden music.
Which feature of your system do your visitors most often notice first?
The sound quality from the speakers in our kitchen is something our guests always notice when we host a party. Plus they love being able to select the music they want to listen to in our library on our Control4 touchscreen.
What’s the most important thing that Control4 now allows you to do that you couldn’t before?
We really love the sunset/sunrise timer for our outside lights, which makes our house look occupied even when we’re out, adding extra security. Also, we have now put all of our remote controls away for the TV, Sky, DVD, Apple TV etc. and enjoy using just one remote control.

Why did you originally want a Control4 Home Automation system? What did you believe it would give you or enable you to do?
We wanted to simplify all our technology, tidy it all up and operate it with one remote control or our phones
Which part of the system has the biggest impact on your life/ lifestyle now and why?
Smart lighting sets the scene throughout our house, we have a morning scene that wakes us up with a very dim light and radio 2 plays through our ceiling speakers.
We also have lighting keypad near the front door with an House Off” button that turns all the house lights off when we rush out on the school run.
Now that your system is complete, what is your favourite thing about your new smart home?
All the rooms are clutter free, no boxes, no wires, everything is centrally located in a cupboard.
Your system is modular, if you were to expand it in the future, what would you add?
We plan to add ceiling speakers in the En-Suite bathrooms and a garden TV near the hot tub.
Which feature of your system do your visitors most often notice first?
We often get positive comments on the lighting keypads that have engraved keys identifying what they do, and it has also been mentioned that the music throughout the house gives a lovely relaxed feel.
What’s the most important thing that Control4 now allows you to do that you couldn’t before?
We can control everything on one App, lighting heating, CCTV and music at home or when we are away.
